Ginger is considered to be one of the most effective remedies for colds. The rhizome contains a high amount of vitamin C and a variety of minerals – such as potassium, magnesium, and iron – that strengthen your immune system and thus prepare it gradually for the fight against the flu and cold viruses. The minerals contained in ginger also counteract deficiency symptoms such as hair loss and fatigue.

Ginger also contains the so-called gingerol, which has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and expectorant effects. This is especially helpful if you’re already feeling the first signs of a cold. With regular use, you can even reduce menstrual cramps and headaches.

If you want to get through autumn and winter healthily, you should treat yourself to ginger shot on a regular basis.

You don’t need a lot of ingredients for a ginger shot. There are three in total.

The ingredients:

Fresh ginger

A sweetener such as an agave syrup, honey, or date syrup

Utensils: lemon squeezer, a stand or hand blender, a sieve, a shot glass

The preparation:

Use a lemon squeezer to squeeze the lemons and collect the juice.

Put the lemon juice, ginger, and sweetener of your choice in a blender and puree everything for about 30 seconds

Strain the mixture through a sieve into a shot glass.

You can also prepare a large number of ginger shots and take them over several days. Simply pour the juice into a clean, resealable glass and put it in the refrigerator.

You can also refine the basic recipe by adding fresh orange juice or ground turmeric, for example. This gives your body an extra immune boost.
